22.11.-21.12.2025 nonstop Konsti Elf hunt during opening hours
It just so happened that as Christmas was approaching, the elves of Konsti decided to hide in the secret labyrinths of the museum. The elves would have an important message to deliver from Santa Claus himself, but now the message is lost in the sticky paws of hiding beepers. Find the elves in an elaborate quest to solve the riddle of Santa's visceral message!

Christmas lights will be lit in the windows of the Factory School! The lighting campaign is carried out in cooperation with the Varkaus Museum Friends Association and the entrepreneurs and associations at the Factory School. You can admire the illuminated building until the New Year's Eve.

This year, in addition to the traditional Christmas carols, we will hear Christmas carols from the lives of well-known people from Varkaus. Songs that have had a significant, touching, perhaps funny memory or a story in general. 2nd floor of the Konsti Hall. In cooperation with Varkaus Parish.

Su 23.11. at 10.00-16.00 nonstop Family Sunday November self-portrait workshop.
Come to Krank's workshop to work on a portrait of yourself in the same way as artists of the past painted self-portraits. For inspiration on colours and style, look for portraits from Konsti's November´s Vorssi -exhibition. The workshop will be led by Johanna Aho. Organised by Children's Cultural Centre Verso and Varkaus Museum Center Konsti.

This lecture will explore how to turn the challenges of interpreting and understanding non-presentational art into a pleasure and consider different strategies to make abstract art more accessible. The lecture is organised in cooperation with Soisalo University and the lecturer will be Susanne Ylönen, PhD, University of Jyväskylä.

The lecture starts at 18.00.

The lecture will take place in the 2nd floor (accessible) of the Konsti Hall of the Varkaus Museum Center.

Welcome to the Rakel's Day guided art tour on 17.12. at 18.00! Rakel Kansanen is the collector of the most valuable art collection in the city of Varkaus, and her name day is celebrated in Konsti. During the tour, you will learn about the life of painter and lapidary Anton Lindforss and the other colourful and temperamental artists of the November Art Group. And how is art collector Rakel Kansanen associated with the November Art Group?
