Come and celebrate Varkaus’s industrial heritage at the pre-event for European Industrial Heritage Week! The programme includes guided tours, boat trips and site presentations. European Industrial Heritage Week forms part of the Varkaus Days 2026.

The European Heritage Label awarded to Varkaus by the European Commission has inspired efforts to showcase Varkaus’s unique environment, places, people and stories. 

The programme is centred around the exhibits at the Museum Center Konsti, which showcases Varkaus’s industrial heritage. The new guided tours include themed ‘Countess Boije’ tours at the Taipale Canal Museum – which played a key role in the development of the whole of Eastern Finland – as well as a city tour showcasing the town’s Aalto sites.
