Grants
The discretionary grants awarded by the Energy Board are available through the Timmi grant scheme from 3 February to 23 February 2025. Grants of up to €55 000 will be opened, of which up to €5 000 will be allocated to sports grants for specific groups. Grants will be awarded on a discretionary basis in accordance with the grant rules.
The priorities for the allocation of grants, in addition to the grant rules, were set out by the Power Council at its meeting on 13.1.2025, § 4.
- Organisation of events open to the public
- Provision of self-financing for projects
- Recreational activities, inclusion and well-being of children and young people
The Power Board will consider the grant applications at its meeting on 10 February 2010.3.2025.
The application is completed electronically via the TIMMI grant software. Before filling in the application, please read the registration instructions.
Registered associations whose association details can be found in the PRH (https://www.prh.fi/fi/yhdistysrekisteri.html -> Go to the electronic information service of the register of associations) apply for a grant in TIMMI in the name of the association. In the category, select the type of grant you are applying for.
The first registration step is to apply to the City of Varkaus Chief Administrator for an extension of personal access rights to the registered association as a contact person. The administrator will approve the extension of access rights within three working days.
Entrepreneurs and free action groups register with the contact person's sotu ID when applying for a grant.

Operating grants for sports services 2025
The budget for the Sports Services includes a grant of €48 500 for 2025. The grant budget is divided into operating grants for sports clubs (45 000 euros) and sports scholarships (3 500 euros).
The operating grants for sports clubs awarded by the Welfare Promotion Board are open for applications from 1 to 30 April. 2025 via the Timmi grant system.
The Sports Services Grant Regulations have been updated and approved by the Welfare Promotion Board on 26 January 2023 § 7. Sports grants under the grant regulations can be applied for throughout the year, in accordance with the regulations.

When applying for a grant for an organization or association, please check if the organization you represent is already on the client register. (See detailed instructions below under the link "TIMMI registration") If your association and your name are already on the register, please extend your access rights and you can submit the application on behalf of the association.
When you log into TIMMI for the first time, you will need to submit a request to extend your access rights. Note! You can only submit a grant application after the main administrator of the City of Varkaus Timmi system has approved your extension of access rights (1-2 working days).This ensures that you are entitled to submit the application on behalf of the association.
