The City of Varkaus recreation areas are planned and built by the technical department. Recreational areas are defined as built parks, playgrounds, traffic zones, urban forests and swimming beaches.
We carry out the design and construction of real estate yards managed by support services on a contract basis.

The tower can be accessed through the courtyard of the Mechanical Music "museum". The distance from the parking area to the tower is about 0.2 km.
The distance from the city centre tothe Bird Tower of Lake Ruokojärvi is about 5 km. From the car park (at the end of the forest road) the distance to the tower is about 0,3 km. Forests and plot trees
Forest management aims to create a beautiful and pleasant environment for living, working and recreation, as well as a diverse forest ecosystem. Residents have the opportunity to influence the management of their local forests, for example by participating in local forest clearance events and providing feedback on issues related to the management of their local forest.
Urban forest management
Urban forests are mainly local recreation areas (VL) and protection forests ( EV). Urban forests are classified into three categories, C1 to C3, according to their use and management measures.
A policy has been prepared for residents to clean up their local environment on their own initiative, so that they do not have to request permission from the technical services in future.
In many cases, wild areas in the vicinity of housing estates become overgrown because the technical services do not have sufficient resources to clean up the areas or to carry out follow-up work after thinning operations. Residents generally perceive 'overgrown areas' as a nuisance and a nuisance which reduces their living comfort. By tidying up their own neighbourhood, residents can achieve the results they want in a timely manner.
Cleaning up larger areas, such as beaches, still requires a permit from the city before any work can be carried out.

Cutting down trees on land
To cut down trees in your yard, you must apply for a permit from the Building Inspector's Office. The technical department does not cut down trees on private plots.
