Document requests
According to Section 12 of the Publicity Act (621/1999), everyone has the right to be informed of a document concerning him or her. Unless otherwise provided by law, everyone has the right of access to information about him or herself contained in a public authority document, subject to the restrictions laid down in Article 11(2) and (3).
According to Article 11 of the Publicity Act, a party has the right of access to information. An applicant, complainant or any other person whose right, interest or obligation is affected (party) has the right to obtain from the authority handling or processing the case information about the contents of a document, other than a public document, which may or may have affected the handling of his or her case.

Return by post to the addressee City of Varkaus/registry office
or on the spot at the Registry Office of the Town Hall.

Request for access to information by a party
The form is sent using the Suomi.fi messaging service in secure form. You will need to log in to the Suomi.fi messaging service with strong authentication to ensure that the information is about the right person. The service will guide you through the process of submitting the form, if necessary you can also read the short instructions (below).
Once your form has been submitted, it will be notified to the data collector. The request will be stored in the electronic case management register. You may be asked to clarify your request if necessary. You will receive your information with your request either electronically via the Suomi.fi messaging service, as a printed copy by registered mail or at the Registry.
The delivery time for the requested data is 14 days. Some city documents are subject to an information service fee, the link below will take you to a document explaining the fees.
How to fill in electronic forms
1. Go to the form
2. Fill in the form and submit
3. Select the authentication method and authenticate
4. Successful authentication, proceed to the service
5. Enter your consent and email address for Suomi.fi messages
6. The form was successfully submitted, log out to return to the Varkaus website.
7. The forms you have sent will appear in the Submitted folder of the Suomi.fi Messages service.
