Varkaus Museum Center Konsti

The New Museum for Varkaus is a project that includes the concept, content and facilities of the new museum. The funding of the project is also made up of several different components.

The main funder of the content is the Finnish Cultural Foundation, which provided €200 000 for the implementation of the Varkaus New Museum project. The aim of the project was to produce new, experiential ways of approaching and using cultural heritage alongside content design. The project will provide a free space for the city's citizens to spend time in, and will enable the development of urban culture, museum activities, museum content and heritage on the community's own terms. This responds to the public's desire for an accessible, informal museum experience
