Surplus land and landfills
The city receives clean surplus soil for the Kuvansintii landfill. Destia Oy is responsible for the maintenance and reception of the landfill.
A transfer document must be completed for all land brought to the landfill site. The document will create the conditions for adequate monitoring and control of the transport. The transfer document must be sent by e-mail to the following persons:
Martti Kääriäinen, Community Engineer, martti.kaariainen@varkaus.fi
City Engineer Jani Viljakainen, jani.viljakainen@varkaus.fi
Site Manager Ville Nyyssönen, ville.nyyssonen@destia.fi
All soil brought to the landfill must be reported to Destia Oy staff, who will also provide the keys to the gates:
Site Manager Ville Nyyssönen tel. 040 143 4807
Petri Kettunen, Site Manager, tel. 040 037 7714
In winter, the area is not ploughed, which may limit the use of the area for receiving soil materials.
The city does not accept small loads of concrete, brick or ceramic waste (trailers, vans, etc.). Such loads must be delivered to the Riikinneva waste disposal centre, where they are collected free of charge.
Snow dumps
Reception of snow
No charges are levied for the reception of snow from private properties (OK houses, terraced houses and blocks of flats) for snow-covered parcels managed by the city, even if the snow supplier is a company working on behalf of the property.
or even if the property contains commercial premises in addition to residential apartments. For the reception of snow from areas managed by companies, the contractor may charge 1 e/m3 incl. VAT.
