The Varkaus campus area offers opportunities for different study paths, from upper secondary school to vocational education and university of applied sciences. If you prefer to study by working, you can also complete a full vocational qualification and parts of a qualification by apprenticeship at Savo Vocational University.
Did you know that Varkaus has one of the largest concentrations of engineers in Finland? And no wonder, because science has both a history and a future here, and there are plenty of jobs and places to study in many other fields. For example, the Varkaus branch of Savonia UAS trains engineers for the future in energy technology, and you can find a suitable traineeship in the city during your studies. The multi-modal education also allows for degrees in tourism, catering and business, not to mention many other fields of study.

- the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the UAS curriculum or field of study before applying for a degree course

LABOUR MARKET TRAINING
Savonia ammattikorkeakoulu organises labour market training for unemployed persons and persons at risk of unemployment, which can include.
- further education and training for people with higher education qualifications
- parts of polytechnic degrees
- multidisciplinary training packages.
All training courses are either at the level of polytechnic degrees or at the level of higher polytechnic degrees and are designed to be work-oriented, i.e. they include practical project tasks and visits to companies and experts. Longer courses include a traineeship, which has helped many students to find employment.
