Free public guided tours

Free public guided tours organised by the Varkaus museokeskus Konsti can be found at "events".

From the Varkaus central bus station about 2.1 km, walking distance about 25 minutes, by bike about 8 minutes.

By local bus: 
Buses 1 (stop at Satakunnankatu) and 2 (stop at Savontie) stop near Konsti.

By car:
Coming from direction VT 5: leave the highway at ramp 46 in direction Joensuu, Keskusta, Jyväskylä, Pieksämäki. 
Turn to VT23 (Taipaleentie) direction Joensuu, Keskusta
Turn left according to the signs direction sairaala, Puurtila, Kommila, Ev. lut. kirkko. 

From the centre/coming from Pieksämäki direction: exit VT 23 (Taipaleentie) towards Joensuu, turn left following the signs towards sairaala, Puurtila, Kommila, Ev. lut. kirkko. 

From Joensuu: VT 23 (Taipaleentie) turn right towards sairaala, Puurtila, Kommila, Ev. lut. kirkko. 
 

PARKING
There is free parking in the immediate vicinity of the main entrance.

MAIN ENTRANCE TO KONSTI
There is a ramp to the main entrance. Main entrance's doors do not have an automatic opening mechanism and there is a threshold at the entrance. The entrance door has a mechanism to keep the door open by itself. If you need help opening the doors, there is a doorbell at the main entrance, which you can press to call Konsti staff to assist you in opening the doors. 

STAIR LIFT
The Konsti has a stair lift up to the second floor. The lift has a capacity of 300 kg.

WCs
A gender-neutral customer toilet and a gender-neutral accessible toilet are located in the lobby of Konsti. The accessible toilet has a child-care area, a toilet stool and a potty.

GUIDE AND ASSISTANCE DOGS
A guide and assistance dog can be taken along on a visit to the museum.

EXHIBITION SPACES
The cultural history exhibition is on two levels. The exhibition has ramps. 

Albert Krank's workspace is located on the lower level with a ramp.

The exhibition spaces have benches.


DOORS IN THE INTERIOR OF THE KONSTI
The interior doors of the exhibitions are open double doors. Almost every door has a small threshold.
